Where do my hosts and passwords live?

Entirely on your PC, inside your user profile folder. Secrets are encrypted (DPAPI on Windows, or an optional master-password vault), and nothing is ever uploaded anywhere.

How do I search inside the terminal?

Press Ctrl+F to search the current terminal, or Ctrl+Shift+F to search across every open terminal at once and jump between hits.

My server uses 2FA — is that supported?

Yes. When the server requests keyboard-interactive verification, a dialog appears where you type your one-time code. No configuration needed.

How do I run the same command on many servers?

Open Toolbox → Broadcast. Type a command once, pick the target hosts, and every output comes back in one place.

Can I import my existing SSH setup?

Yes — Settings can import your OpenSSH config (~/.ssh/config) including users, ports, identity files and ProxyJump, and export back to it.

Does NexSSH track me?

No. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting. The only traffic the app ever makes is the SSH connection you asked for.

Connection refused or timeout

Check the address and port, and make sure sshd is running on the server. Behind a corporate firewall? Configure the host's proxy options (HTTP/SOCKS5) or route via a jump host.

Authentication failed

Verify the username and password. For key auth, make sure the public key is in the server's authorized_keys and the passphrase is correct. The SSH Agent option uses keys already loaded on your PC.

Host key changed warning

The server's fingerprint no longer matches the first-use pin. If the server was legitimately rebuilt, open Known Hosts manager and remove the old entry. Otherwise do not connect — investigate.

Vault won't unlock

The master password has no recovery backdoor by design. Try again carefully (a few attempts are allowed), then restore from an encrypted .s2bak backup if you exported one.
